Catching UP

We often have rodoes at our house, I have probably talked about them before. They ususally happen at night after dinner and bath while I do the dishes. Kurt announces the rodeo. This rodeo was especially funny. For some reason Whitley wanted to drag around her "Billy Goat" while John was the pick up man with his whip. I have never seen a goat rodeo before, but that's what we had in our living room. Kurt had a hilarious commentary and Joseph was quite entertained. The pictures do not do it justice!

Above, John loves to cook. He likes to come up with his own recipes. Monday he sauteed asparagus, tomatoes, bell peppers and hominy in olive oil with salt, pepper and garlic salt. It was very good! (if you like all those veggies) The funny thing is out of those veggies, JOhn only likes hominy...so that's all he ate. On Mondays while Whitley is at dance John and I have some special time together with Joseph.

Joseph took a bath in the sink at KK's last weekend. We had to get a picture of all his rolls...love them!!! We have more pictures from KK's, but we were all in our pajamas without makeup (thanks Kurt) so i won't post them. We had a great time in Irving, we went to the Texas Discovery Gardens, butterfly conservatory and Children's aquarium at Faripark, ate good food and shopped. The weekend before we went to Destry's 2nd birthday party and had a great time with my family. I do not have pictures of either weekend, shame on me!!!!

A day outside for John and Whit

Help me up bubba! Whitley has a tendency to be a little clumsy, but John always helps her up!

A few weekends ago we had good weather for being outside. Kurt took John and Whit along with our neighbors' girls Lyndsi (5th grader) and Layni (2nd grader) to ride horses, then the girls played at our house the rest of the day. Kurt had them most of the day by himself, he was a trooper, even fed them lunch and dinner while I was going to showers and church activities. Joseph was with me most of the day. We love our neighbors, their girls are so good to our kids and they never fight while the girls are at our house which is wonderful! We didn't get pics of the girls, but we will next time.

5 Months Old

He's working on sitting up.
And he can touch his toes.

Joseph is over 5 months old now and growing like crazy. He is 18lbs 9oz. After 5 months of sleepless nights we finally decided something is wrong with him. We tried EVERYTHING, better routine, put himself to sleep, lavendar lotion, started him on solid foods, put oatmeal in his bottle, etc. So last Wednesday we took him to the doc and we think he has acid reflux. We started giving him medicine and have had almost a week now of sleeping through the night, thank goodness for all of us. He is much better! We felt bad b/c we just now took him to the doctor, but this is a new thing for us. He is getting better at sitting up, but he still doesn't roll over...he did roll over one time, but hasn't done it again. That is also new for us, the other 2 rolled over at 4 months, but the doc is not concerned. He has one tooth poking through and another one that looks like it will be out soon. I have to give Aunt KK the credit for seeing his first little tooth! We love our little man and we are so glad he is feeling better!

Snow Days

Kurt was gone the week we had all the snow so one night we all had a slumber party in Momma's room! It was fun!
Whitley never would lay her head down in the snow for her angel, it was funny.

More fun pictures

I don't think his smile can get any bigger!!!
John & Whit on thier "horses". They have more fun on these bouncy balls. John put on his chaps...they are tiny hand made chaps from our friends at Big Bend Saddlery, they were a gift to him when he was born...so they are too small for him. Whitley likes to bounce with her baby chimpanzee. They round up cattle and drag them to their "pens". John makes a set of pens out of our barstools and chairs in the kitchen. The bouncy balls are a great workout too....i don't know if you can tell, but John is sweating he has been working so hard.

Above, John is wearing his veterinarian coat to school for their "job fair". Whitley just woke up. I have to wake her up to take John to school, she is always in her jammies half asleep.

Love this picture!

Our little ballerina

Whitley still loves dance! She is doing really well and she looks oh so cute in her ballet clothes. She is also sporting her clip-on dragonfly earrings in these pictures. She is definitely a girly girl, but with an attitude!! Maybe diva is the word that best describes her??? Either way she is our Whitley and we love her!

4 months old

Joseph is 4 months old. We started him on cereal...he wasn't too sure about it, but now he likes it. He has also had carrots now too. He weighs in at 16lbs 9oz and he is 26 inches long. He is in the 90th percentile in height and 75th in weight. He is kind of working on rolling on to his side, but is content laying on his back. Tummy time is not his favorite time of the day, but he is getting stronger in that area. When he smiles, his whole body smiles, he is pretty much happy all of the time (even in the middle of the night when he should be sleeping :)). John and Whitley love him and he lights up when he sees them!
