Punkin Pictures

We went home to Floydada for Punkin Days.  It rained a lot, so it was a wet muddy mess and  we did not complain a bit b/c the rain was a blessing!!!  Joseph was sick, so he and Kurt went home early.  My Mom's side of the family gets together every year at this time.  It was great to see everyone.  The family has a new addition or two every year, we are blessed!

 There is nothing John would rather do than ride horses.  He just got this new horse, Oreo, from Papaw.  He looks really grown up in this picture with Kurt.  Kurt is riding our other new horse, Nick.  Nick is a little horse, and a little stubborn.

We had a great party for Joseph complete with BBQ and cake and family.  It was a great day.  He weighed 23 lbs 7 oz at his one year appt.  He didn't gain as much weight as we expected, but he is mobile now so that makes a difference!

August Pics

He is so proud of all his new tricks that have come along with mobility!  We are glad he is mobile now.  It took him longer than normal to roll over and crawl.  He started crawling at 10 months, now he is all over the place.  We are gearing up for his first birthday on Sept 22nd....quite possible the fastest year of my life!!  He weighed 22 pounds at his 9 month appt.  I ran across Whitley's 2 year old stats the other day and she weighed 21 pounds at 2.  Funny! 

More to come later.  We are in full swing of school.  John is in first grade and he lost a top tooth.  I also haven't posted our mountain vacay pics....

I made a mistake and I have to correct it

On the post about John's kindergarten graduation it says "He had a great year but  I sure am not enjoying the summer with him....I don't know where the NOT came from, but that is not what I intended to say.  I think I was gonna say I am not ready for 1st grade and changed my mind.  So I will start over..

John had a great Kindergarten year, I am not ready for 1st grade only b/c I AM enjoying him being home with us this summer!

I feel better now.  Please don't think I am a bad Mom, just tired! :)

Funny side note:  Kurt and I were looking at the blog together b/c he had not looked at it in a while.  He noticed the mistake first but didn't say anything until I realized it.  He was probably just thinking I was in a bad mood when I posted that!  He knows when to just not say anything I guess.  But when I pointed it out that it was a mistake I think he was relieved that I didn't mean that.  Sometimes he questions whether or not I enjoy my time at home with the kids.  I tell him it is because when he gets home it is the "witching hour"....when all parties of the household are tired and cranky.  We really are having fun the rest of the day...most days.  :)
