A VERY White Christmas and all of our December festivities!

The tractor was/is our mode of transportation b/c our cars can't get past the 3 ft. snow drifts in our drive way.

Mr. Cool! John has had so much fun making snow angels, a snowman and having snowball fights.

Miss Cool going down the slide.

Who needs a gate when you can walk over your fence thanks to the snow drifts.

Christmas Day:

Santa brought Whitley a Dora kitchen, backpack, Elmo and a toaster plus all her stocking stuffers.

Santa brought John Buzz Lightyear (he got that last year too, but he needed one that the wings actually popped out), Woody, Slinky Dog, his own jet pack to wear on his back just like Buzz, and a Leapster video game.

John was the first one up. He was very excited. We had to wake Whitley up, but she was very excited to see what was going on.

Above, the night before Christmas cookies and milk, then off to bed.

Kurt's parents live right down the road. I planned on borrowing Pam's Christmas cookie cutters, but b/c of the weather we could not get to their house, so we settled for round Christmas ornament cookies.

Kurt wasn't with us most of Christmas Eve b/c he was in the tractor pulling people out of snow drifts. He got home at 9:30 that night. Then he had to lug all of the Santa gifts from the storage building to the front door b/c we couldn't get our garage open b/c of the snow. He was exhausted! He felt so bad b/c he could not get everyone off of Hwy 287, he had to leave many families out on the Hwy to spend the night in their cars in the 12 degree weather. A lesson to all of us...when there is a winter weather advisory, listen to what they are saying, if you just have to go, take blankets and food and keep a full tank of gas.... b/c of all the people out on the road needing help my sweet husband missed his family festivities for Christmas Eve, but we are just glad that he made it home safely and we hope everyone else finally did too!

Letters from Santa arrived in our mailbox.

Christmas at my Gran's.

John's school play, he was an angel, they are delivering Baby Jesus to Mary in the pic above.

Whitley was Mary in her school play. She did great!

And finally at the beginning of December we made a gingerbread house with our friends. It was a great time.

We finished!!!

Yesterday Kami and I ran the Dallas Whiterock Half Marathon!!! It was an amazing feeling to cross the finish line. It was fun to run in the beautiful neighborhoods around Dallas and in downtown. It was a commitment to train for, but was well worth it. Thanks Kurt for helping me achieve this goal by always encouraging me and allowing me to take the time to train.

Above, Kurt's sister LeeAnn giving me some water at mile 9. I was still feeling pretty good then, but after mile 10 I started hurting!!!

YEA....I FINISHED!!!

Telling my parents I made it to the finish line alive!!!

Thanksgiving Day

The weather was great on Thanksgiving Day so we decided to saddle BH and go for a ride. The kids get so excited when they get to ride horses. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving day at Kurt's parents' house. We celebrated with friends a family. Then that weekend we went to the Tech vs. Baylor game at the Cowboy Stadium. We ended up getting to sit in a suite at the stadium (thank you LeeAnn and Johnathan) and it was fabulous. I wish every game could be watched from a suite!! I will try to attach a link to view pictures from the game.

October

October was very busy, here are a few pictures of what we did. I have more to upload later. Above, the kids get to use their umbrellas in the rain.My Dad turned 60. John and I went to Floydada for Dad's birthday party, Punkin Days and my Mom's side of the family get together. Kurt stayed home with Whitley, she was sick. We missed them! Below is John, Destry and Kira after Punkin Days. We didn't do all the festivities at Punkin Days b/c it was so cold and rainy.
Below: Whitley stayed home with me on Columbus Day, she helped me wash dishes.
Below, we tried on John's costume to make sure it fit and Whitley put on her dress up clothes.
Below, Whitley is the second child walking at their school parade and fall festival....

Above, Whitley the Witch was not really thrilled with walking in the parade!John is an old pro at the School for Little People fall festival and parade.

Above, Halloween weekend we went to Aunt LeeAnn's house. LeeAnn went all out for the kids. They are making cupcakes in the above picture.

They went for a jeep ride with Toby and KK.

We watched the Tech game in our Tech clothes.

Above, Whitley and her new friend Acie.

Above, KK puts makeup on Whitley the witch and Acie the princess.

The princess, the witch and the pirate.

LeeAnn's street is perfect for old fashioned trick or treating. We walked door to door and the neighbors were so sweet!

There are a few pictures of what we did in October. We also had all my family in one weekend, John finished up soccer and I went to Montana to see Mary. I still have lots of pictures to post. I can't keep up with our busy schedule this fall! We are having tons of fun and we love this time of the year with all the holidays and the great weather!!!!
